सीबीआई ने शिकायतकर्ता से 2.5 लाख रु. की रिश्वत की मांग करने एवं स्वीकार करने पर वरिष्ठ डाकघर अधीक्षक, भीमावरम मण्डल, पश्चिम गोदावरी जिला (आंध्र प्रदेश) को गिरफ्तार किया।
सीबीआई ने एक शिकायत के आधार पर वरिष्ठ डाकघर अधीक्षक, भीमावरम मण्डल, पश्चिम गोदावरी जिला (आंध्र प्रदेश) के विरुद्ध मामला दर्ज किया। यह आरोप है कि वरिष्ठ डाकघर अधीक्षक, भीमावरम मण्डल ने शिकायतकर्ता के विरुद्ध आपराधिक मामला दर्ज होने के आधार पर उसको दिनाँक 30.11.2023 को निलंबित करने का आदेश जारी किया जबकि उस पर विचारण चल रहा था। आगे यह आरोप है कि शिकायतकर्ता से उसका निलंबन रद्द करने के लिए आरोपी ने प्रारम्भ में 10 लाख रु. की रिश्वत की मांग की। परस्पर बातचीत के पश्चात, आरोपी ने कथित तौर पर रिश्वत की राशि घटाकर 2.5 लाख रु. कर दी।
सीबीआई ने जाल बिछाया एवं आरोपी को शिकायतकर्ता से 2.5 लाख रु. की रिश्वत स्वीकार करने के दौरान रंगे हाथों पकड़ा। आरोपी के आवासीय एवं कार्यालयी परिसरों में तलाशी ली गई, जिससे आपत्तिजनक दस्तावेज बरामद हुए।
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhimavaram Division, West Godavari District (Andhra Pradesh) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 2.5 lakh from the Complainant.
A case was registered on complaint against Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhimavaram Division, West Godavari District (Andhra Pradesh). It was alleged that the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhimavaram Division issued an order for suspension of Complainant on 30.11.2023 on the grounds of registration of a criminal case against him and the same was under trial. It was further alleged that the accused initially demanded a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from Complainant for revoking his suspension. After negotiation, the accused allegedly reduced the bribe amount to Rs. 2.5 lakh.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 2.5 lakh from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at the residential & office premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Vijayawada and was remanded to Judicial Custody till 02.01.2024.
